This morning at 8 AM the door bell rang and four friendly guys came in with stacks of boxes, tape, paper and bubble wrap. Now they are packing, packing... exciting!
Also exciting: I just got an e-mail from the realtor in Berlin. We have an apartment!!! 4 BR, 1700 sqf two story rooftop apartment with a cute rooftop terrace. Two more balconies will be added on this fall. It's in the Prenzlauer Berg neighborhood just around the corner from Kollwitzplatz which I totally fell in love with last week during my house hunting trip to Berlin. School and my husband's office are very close by which is amazing for a city as big as Berlin. The only minus is that it's in the 4th & 5th floor without elevator. That will surely keep us fit! ;-)
After we are packed and loaded tomorrow we'll do some vacationing around Northern California before we leave to Germany mid July.
Heute morgen um 8 Uhr klingelt es an der Haustuer und vier nette Maenner, beladen mit Umzugskartons, Papier, Klebeband und Luftblasenfolie, betraten unser Haus. Jetzt wird gepackt, gepackt und gepackt! Aufregend...
Auch aufregend ist, dass ich gerade eine Mail von einem Makler in Berlin bekommen habe, der uns eine Wohnung zusagte, die ich mir letzte Woche angesehen habe. Etwa 170 qm Dachgeschoss Maisonette, 5 Zimmer mit kleiner Dachterrasse. Im Herbst werden noch 2 Balkone angebaut. Die Wohnung ist in Prenzlauer Berg direkt um die Ecke vom Kollwitzplatz. Habe mich letzte Woche total in diesen Stadtteil verliebt und freu mich schon auf unser Leben dort.
Schule und Buero meines Mannes sind auch nicht weit, was bei einer grossen Stadt wie Berlin wirklich selten ist. Der einzige Nachteil ist, dass die Wohnung im 4. & 5. Stock ohne Aufzug ist. Das wird uns mit Sicherheit fit halten. ;-)
Wenn hier morgen alles gepackt und geladen ist, machen wir noch Urlaub in Nordkalifornien, bis wir dann Mitte Juli nach Deutschland fliegen.
