school's out!/ Sommerferien!

Today was the last day of school for my older daughter Luzie. She had to say "Goodbye" to her friends and teacher. She will be going to a new school in Berlin after the summer. For her it hasn't sunken in yet what that means. :-(

I am going house hunting in Berlin next week all by myself. I am excited to explore "our" new city.

Heute ist der letzte Schultag fuer meine grosse Tochter Luzie. Sie musste sich von ihren Freundinnen und ihrer Lehrerin verabschieden. Nach den Sommerferien wird sie in eine neue Schule in Berlin gehen. Ich glaube, sie hat noch nicht wirklich begriffen, was das fuer sie bedeutet. :-(

Naechste Woche fliege ich alleine nach Berlin auf Wohnungssuche. ich freue mich schon drauf "unsere" neue Stadt zu erkunden.

One of the things that Luzie will be missing most (according to her) is her climbing tree in our front yard. A beautiful old olive tree.

Laut Luzie ist eine der Sachen, die sie am meisten vermissen wird, ihr Kletterbaum. Eine alte Olive in unserem Vorgarten.
